7 Forces Commercial Services Procurement Specialist for Operations and Community Services – Cambs

Location: Dependent on applicant’s location; base anywhere across the seven forces. Reporting to: Category Specialist. Employment type: Permanent, Full-time. Organisation: 7 Force Commercial Services. Salary: £46,359 per annum plus Market Rate Supplement £6,375. Vetting: Management MV and Security Clearance; UK residence requirement as part of vetting checks (RV: 3 years, MV: 5 years).

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver on Tactical Acquisition and Tactical Profit procurements within the Operations & Community Services Category across the seven police forces.
• Lead all strategic Contract Management and Supplier Relationship activity within the allocated category to secure better value for money and ensure contracted benefits are delivered.
• Interact with senior level management and represent the seven forces as a collective or individually where necessary.
• Engage with external bodies (e.g., Home Office, Crown Commercial Services, Police Digital Service, BlueLight Commercial) and participate in nationally led initiatives, providing opinion and guidance.
• Collaborate with budget holders and operational contract owners to ensure the procurement pipeline reflects business needs and priorities.
• Evidence minimum entry requirements and maintain compliance with public-sector procurement standards.

Qualifications

• Ideally educated to CIPS Level 5 in line with CIPS structure, or provide evidence of equivalent levels of experience, technical knowledge, and expertise in procurement within a complex public-sector organisation.
• Ability to demonstrate relevant procurement experience and capability.
