Role and responsibilities
The University of London Worldwide is responsible for the development and delivery of distance learning programmes and is seeking to appoint two Academic Services Manager (12 month FTC - maternity cover) to join the Online Education Directorate.
- Manage relationships with key personnel at federation member partners with oversight of a portfolio.
- Gain insights into how various academic programmes are performing and work with programme teams to ensure programmes function well and realise their potential for a high quality student experience.
- Facilitate communication between academic and operational teams and resolve issues swiftly and efficiently.
- Be proactive and consider the wider implications and risks of decisions that might impact programmes in your portfolio.
- Draft and publish programme documentation (e.g., Programme Regulations, Programme Annual Monitoring Reports) and understand how issues in Higher Education (e.g., OfS Conditions of Registration, QAA UK Quality Code) impact programme policies.
- Work in an established team with support, while also managing your own portfolio independently and leading mini projects to scope out new activities to improve performance, including work related to design and development of new programmes and products.
Qualifications and skills
- Good communicator with ability to liaise between academic and operational teams.
- Ability to work with colleagues to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Understanding of quality assurance processes in higher education.
- Experience drafting and publishing programme documentation and awareness of regulatory frameworks (OfS, QAA).
