Account Director - Channel Marketing

ROLE OVERVIEW

As Account Director, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of clients within the channel/technology space. You will lead client relationships, ensure high-quality delivery across campaigns, digital, events, and consulting workstreams, and act as a strategic partner to clients. You will mentor and manage mid/senior account team members, oversee P&L, and help drive business development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary client point of contact, building trusted strategic relationships at senior levels
  • Define and drive account strategy, aligning with client goals and agency services
  • Lead and coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams (content, digital, events, campaigns, consultancy) to deliver integrated solutions
  • Oversee planning, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation for client accounts
  • Monitor financial performance (profitability, margins, billing, cost control) and ensure delivery against forecasts
  • Identify opportunities for account growth (upsell, cross‑sell, new projects)
  • Lead proposals, pitches, and contract negotiations in collaboration with leadership
  • Ensure high standards of quality, performance metrics, reporting, and client satisfaction
  • Mentor and develop account managers/senior account managers under your supervision
  • Stay abreast of channel/technology trends, competitor activity, and industry best practices
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal teams to improve processes, workflows, and client offerings

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

  • Proven experience in agency account leadership, preferably in B2B/technology/channel marketing
  • Demonstrable track record of managing and growing client accounts
  • Strong business acumen and P&L responsibility experience
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Experience overseeing integrated campaigns (content, digital, events, strategy)
  • Proficiency in budgets, forecasting, metrics, and reporting
  • Leadership and people management skills; ability to mentor and develop others
  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment while staying connected and collaborative
  • Passion for the IT/technology channel space (or willingness to immerse)
  • Channel/reseller/vendor marketing experience
  • Experience with consultancy assignments
  • Experience with hybrid/virtual events
  • Familiarity with digital marketing technologies, analytics, CRM tools
