Overview
Account Manager role at ElectraLink. This is a hybrid role with a base office in Nottingham or London. You will focus on managing and growing relationships with key clients using our API-based solutions, acting as a strategic advisor to understand client needs, identify upsell opportunities, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver seamless service.
You will maintain accurate reports on account performance, monitor key metrics, participate in client training sessions, and support the implementation of core account management processes such as account planning, onboarding, renewal and retention monitoring. A high level of attention to detail, strong organisation and communication skills are required in a fast-paced environment. A deep understanding of data-driven solutions and the energy industry is beneficial.
What you will do
- Contribute to the development of core account management procedures for the department.
- Support the creation and implementation of a structured internal customer handover process highlighting key milestones in the sales journey.
- Assist in establishing systems to proactively monitor and maintain customer account health.
- Help create processes that promote client retention and enable seamless contract renewals.
- Client relationship management and expertise
- Conduct regular reviews with customers to ensure high levels of service and that needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address client challenges and feedback.
- Provide customers with accurate proposals, collateral, and information; field sales inquiries and provide timely support.
- Develop excellent relationships with allocated contacts and work with the Marketing and Sales teams to maximise the customer experience.
- Continually develop product and technical knowledge to better understand the customer base.
- Contribute to ElectraLink values and behaviours and act as a role model.
- Keep CRM up to date for all communications, including understanding client structure, key contacts and target markets; stay informed on energy market trends.
- Provide clients with insights and recommendations based on market analysis; lead training sessions and workshops on product features and best practices.
- Revenue growth and upselling
- Contribute to overall sales targets by managing contract renewals and cross-selling relevant services; identify opportunities within existing accounts through a consultative approach.
- Maintain an up-to-date Quarterly Accounts Sales Plan with clear, manageable, and measurable targets.
- Reporting and analysis
- Prepare detailed reports on account performance and track key metrics; provide updates to management.
- Analyse client data to identify patterns and opportunities; present findings to internal teams and clients to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in energy and utilities sector.
- 3 years’ experience in account management or new business development with a proven track record of upselling and growing existing accounts.
- Strong understanding of customer needs; self-motivated with good relationship-building skills; keen attention to detail; ability to adapt to change; strong verbal and written communication, including presentation skills; ability to persuade and influence.
- Experience with CRM systems; familiarity with data, software, analytics or consultancy solutions is desirable.

- Experience of consultative selling; strong commercial and financial judgement.
- Ability to understand complex solutions and explain them clearly; strong stakeholder management.
