The Role
As part of the Finance team in London, the Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within the finance team to meet internal and external deadlines.
How You Can Make a Difference
1. Daily Operations
- Perform daily reconciliation of bank accounts, including both corporate and client accounts.
- Reconcile Payment Service Provider (PSP) transactions with the trading system.
- Ensure accurate daily posting of client transactions and trading books in the accounting system.
- Manage daily segregation of client funds.
- Post invoices in the accounting system.
- Manage transfers and/or withdrawals of funds based on company policies and procedures.
- Conduct other required reconciliations as needed.
2. Payments & Supplier Management
- Process supplier payments in a timely manner.
- Maintain and reconcile the supplier ledger with supplier statements.
- Serve as a point of contact for invoice payment queries from other departments and external parties.
3. Month-End Procedures
- Post provisions for prepayments and accruals.
- Generate trial balances (TB) and monthly management accounts, ensuring relevant schedules and breakdowns are prepared.
- Provide input and commentary on the Balance Sheet (BS) and Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
- Prepare and update the fixed asset register.
4. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and supervise daily financial reporting.
- Preparation and submission of VAT calculations and returns.
- Assist with regulatory and ad hoc reporting requirements as needed.
- Support the annual financial audit process to ensure compliance with submission deadlines.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance-related role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in reconciliations, financial reporting, and supplier payments.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of Netsuite accounting software would be considered as an advantage.
- Experience in CYSEC entity will be considered as an advantage.
- Knowledge of PBI reports and system will be considered as an advantage.
