About the Role

The KPMG Actuarial Consulting function is a cornerstone of our business. Operating from our major UK offices we do work that matters, serving the country with diligence and expertise. As a Qualified Actuarial Consultant at KPMG you take a lead delivery role, managing small teams of advisors and auditors to a wide range of general insurance companies, in the Retail and Commercial sectors, including within Lloyd’s and the London Market.

What will you need to do it?

Responsibilities include managing concurrent engagements, shaping and implementing KPMG’s tailored solutions, and delivering on Solvency II support, financial transformation projects, and deals team assistance.

Qualifications

  • Nearly or newly qualified actuary with experience in a non-Life Actuarial Function or a Non-Life Consultancy with direct UK experience.
  • Hands‑on experience building models using platforms such as Akur8, Quantee, Optalitix, HX Renew, Earnix, or Radar.
  • Strong understanding of modern optimisation techniques in pricing or underwriting.
  • Proven track record of migrating pricing models from legacy tools (e.g., Excel raters) to modern platforms.
  • Solid coding capability in Python for pricing, data manipulation, or automation tasks.
  • Experience working with third‑party data sources such as LexisNexis, Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), and FullCircl.
  • Skill in transforming raw data into meaningful features for predictive models or pricing algorithms.
  • Knowledge of Solvency II, GAAP, IFRS, and UK non‑life regulatory regimes.
  • Ability to manage concurrent engagements and collaborate with clients and senior personnel from day one.
  • Strong technical, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong coaching skills to develop junior team members.
