The Environment Agency is committed to having an inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We value diversity and strive to embrace it for the benefit of our staff, communities, and environment.

It’s an exciting time to be involved in planning England’s water resources. Our water supply faces ongoing pressure due to drought and dry weather, with recent publications like the National Framework for Water Resources guiding our future efforts. This role is crucial to the success of implementing this framework.

First released in March 2020, the framework marked a significant step in planning for resilient water resources amidst climate change, droughts, and population growth, with the 2025 update building on these achievements to promote integrated, multi-sector planning at all levels.

Your role will involve supporting activities to deliver and implement the National Framework, working closely with stakeholders including Defra, regulators, water companies, and sectors like energy and agriculture.
