We are looking for an Applied ML Research Engineer to contribute to our company's vision of constructing a globally coherent ecosystem of intelligent agents. You will be part of our Applied Research group and also contribute to our Foundations of ML group. The focus will be on using Bayesian statistics, inspired by the free energy principle and active inference, to develop scalable solutions to real-world problems.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Contribute to development and innovation efforts, helping product teams implement research results.
• Apply Bayesian techniques to real-world problems.
• Contribute to ML theory development and publish papers.
• Review and analyze research materials, patents, white papers, and presentations.
• Present your work to company leaders regularly.

Essential Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field such as computer science, data science, statistics, or operations research.
• Proven experience applying Bayesian techniques and engaging in ML research.
• Understanding of cutting-edge machine learning research.
• Ability to collaborate with ML research scientists and engineers.

Bonus qualifications include experience with active inference, the free energy principle, AI systems at scale, and cloud deployment of ML services.
