Apprentice Fire & Security Engineer – London and South East (GU, TW, SW)

Alarm Communications Limited are a leading team of fire protection, commercial security and building management systems specialists, with our Head Office located in Surrey. Our client base is predominantly built of prestigious buildings and landmarks, such as high-end hotels, stadia and education establishments in and around Greater London. We are currently looking to appoint a new Apprentice Fire & Security Engineer specifically covering London & surrounding areas.

Basic Salary: Apprentice’s will be paid accordingly with National Living Wage rates subject to age and whether they have completed the first year of their apprenticeship.

Overtime, Travel Time & Call-out: Covered by generous remuneration packages.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in routine maintenance/installation of small works, call-outs and standby on Intruder, CCTV, Access control and Fire Alarms.
  • Maintain systems to the highest standards.
  • Carry out routine services of fire and intruder alarm systems.
  • Provide detailed information to enable accurate quoting of chargeable works.
  • Maintain impeccable conduct and deliver the highest standard of customer service.
  • Keep concise and accurate records of work completed.
  • Complete your Fire & Security Systems Qualification.

Qualification and Course

  • Learn through on-the-job training while studying over a 3-year course.
  • Educational course operates in block releases; 14 block releases across the 3-year period.
  • Pass Level 3 End Point Assessment (EPA) through theory and practical exam.

Requirements

  • A Level or BTEC qualification; Electrical qualification an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, professional appearance.
  • Meticulous, thorough, adaptable, reliable.
  • Self‑motivated to manage workload and course work efficiently.
  • Full UK Driver’s Licence (full licence required or must pass test within 18 months).
  • GCSEs in Maths and English grade 4+.
  • Ability to travel regionally, including London.
