This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Architect / Infrastructure Team Lead in Europe. In this role, you will take full technical ownership of complex backend infrastructures powering high-traffic platforms in gaming, payments, and real-time communication. You will lead the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of scalable backend systems while supporting cross-functional teams to deliver new features. This position offers the chance to work in a fully remote, fast-paced environment where innovation, autonomy, and collaboration are highly valued. You will work closely with international teams, overseeing system reliability, troubleshooting, and integrations to ensure seamless platform performance. Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of backend server systems supporting games, payments, accounts, and chat
  • Oversee systems such as AccountWeb (casino and payments) and XMPP-based chat servers for in-game communication
  • Manage and evolve system APIs, ensuring smooth integration with external platforms like Fireblocks, QT Casino, and Payment IQ
  • Provide technical guidance to the team, driving best practices for backend architecture and system performance
  • Troubleshoot production and staging environments, ensuring reliable operations across distributed infrastructures
  • Maintain and improve the build system, including Maven-based pipelines and Docker deployments
  • Support the development of new features and the optimization of existing ones, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a senior Java developer with solid backend expertise
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Docker (Swarm) and containerized environments
  • Strong skills in multithreading, networking, and Linux system troubleshooting
  • In-depth experience with Maven for building, testing, deploying, and integrating with Docker
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline setup and automation systems
  • Knowledge of or experience with frameworks and tools such as Drools, Infinispan, JGroups, JBoss Cache, MariaDB, Spring, GitHub Actions, and modular Maven artifact management
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in distributed environments
