Area Sales Manager – Garden Furniture & DIY Trade

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands (Hybrid working)

Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 + Bonus, Car & Benefits

This major international garden furniture/Diy trade supplier is seeking an Area Sales Manager to manage and expand sales across the UK. The role is based in Birmingham with hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and approach non-stocking garden centres and meet with decision makers to explore sales opportunities.
• Build trusting relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Conduct regular meetings with buyers and department managers to assess retail sales performance.
• Respond to challenges and opportunities by improving merchandising and stock locations.
• Participate actively in trade exhibitions and company events.
• Collaborate with the UK sales team to share best practice.
• Provide regular sales results updates to the Managing Director.

Key Skills & Experience

• Excellent garden centre knowledge, either from retail or field sales.
• Strong relationship building skills.
• High enthusiasm and positive energy.
• Deep understanding of garden centre operations, customer journeys, store layout, merchandising, and order processes.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel for business.
• Proficiency with CRM, Excel, Outlook and Word.

Qualifications

• Previous field sales experience in the garden retail or furniture industry.
• Experience selling to garden centres.
