Assistant Quantity Surveyor

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team of a leading UK housebuilder, covering the East Midlands region. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone early in their commercial career who is looking to develop within a supportive and structured environment.

Responsibilities

• As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll work closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors and Senior Surveyors, supporting the commercial and cost management of live housing developments.
• This is a varied position where you\u2019ll gain exposure to procurement, subcontractor management, cost control, reporting and day-to-day commercial administration.
• Assisting with the preparation of accurate costings for each stage of site development.
• Supporting the procurement process, including preparing tender documents and engaging with subcontractors.
• Helping to monitor and maintain cost control and cash flow across multiple projects.
• Processing subcontractor payments, variations and orders using company systems (Excel & COINS).
• Assisting with the preparation of regular commercial reports for internal stakeholders.
• Supporting the management of subcontractor compliance and adherence to company policies.
• Providing general commercial administration, including filing, reporting, emails and document control.
• Attending team meetings and contributing to a collaborative, solutions-focused environment.
• This is a role for someone with strong attention to detail, an eagerness to learn, and the ambition to progress within a commercial function.
