Our Team:
Join a world-class engineering team at Semtech’s Bristol Design Centre, where we’re developing high-performance semiconductor solutions that enable next-generation optical access networks. As a market leader in PON ONU chipsets—supporting legacy GPON, current 10Gbps XG(S)PON, and future 25G/50G applications—we design advanced APD/PIN TIAs, laser drivers, receivers, and integrated transceivers powering global fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure. You'll work alongside talented RF IC designers and engineers, collaborating across multiple disciplines to shape the future of high-speed connectivity.

Job Summary:

This is a hands-on, technically demanding role for an experienced engineer with a passion for precision testing, signal integrity, and cross-functional collaboration. As a Senior Staff Characterisation Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the bring-up, automation, and execution of test systems for high-speed mixed-signal ICs. Using state-of-the-art bench equipment (DCA, BERT, LCA, etc.) and Python-based automation, you'll measure, analyse, and report product performance across PVT conditions, supporting successful new product introductions from early development through to release.

If you thrive in a fast-paced R&D environment, love solving technical challenges, and want to work on products used in millions of homes worldwide, this is your opportunity.
