About The Role
P2/Tier 2 - Associate Data Product Owner
Role Description
Role: Mid-level position supporting data product initiatives by gathering business requirements, assisting with backlog management, and coordinating between stakeholders and technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist in gathering and documenting business requirements from stakeholders for data products and features
- Help maintain and organize product backlogs under the guidance of senior data product owners
- Support the implementation of data features by coordinating with technical teams and stakeholders
- Document data requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria according to established templates and standards
- Track progress of data initiatives and provide regular status updates to stakeholders
- Assist in testing and validation of new data features or enhancements
- Build knowledge of the company's data ecosystem, publishing processes, and customer needs
- Help identify data quality issues and contribute to their resolution
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, refinement sessions, and retrospectives
- Learn and apply product management best practices under the guidance of more experienced colleagues
- Requires a university degree or equivalent professional qualification, along with 1-2 years of experience in a business or technology role
- Developing knowledge of product management concepts and Agile methodologies
- Basic understanding of data technologies and concepts (data warehouses, databases, reporting tools)
- Familiarity with requirements gathering techniques and documentation standards
- Analytical skills to break down business needs into manageable components
- Solid written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
- Ability to analyze a range of solutions using experience, judgment, and precedent
- Willingness to learn and build knowledge of Wiley's data landscape and publishing business
- Contributes to the efficient operation of the data product team by ensuring proper documentation and coordination
- Impacts the quality of data requirements and features through careful analysis and documentation
- Supports the achievement of team objectives through effective stakeholder communication and coordination

The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the United Kingdom, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
