Quantum Engineer - Up to £50,000 dependent on experience
Opportunity
As a quantum engineer, you will typically have a Masters degree and industry experience or a PhD. You should have an interest in engineering solutions to diverse problems, a passion for learning, and a desire to work in a multidisciplinary and open team environment. You will be a good fit if you enjoy coding projects, self-motivated research, and communicating your ideas to peers. Experience in setting up and debugging hardware for RF/microwave measurements or characterizing and calibrating qubits is desirable but not essential.
You will work on quantum control protocols to enhance the performance of quantum operations and integrate greater control and measurement functionalities into our technology stack. Collaboration with engineers and scientists in our compiler and hardware teams will be key to developing our software infrastructure and implementing new features into production.
Skills and Experience
To join our Quantum Firmware Team, you should have:
- Relevant Masters with industry experience or a PhD
- Experience working in a team environment
- Ability to solve technical challenges independently and collaboratively
- Experience in setting up experiments
- Proficiency in Python or Matlab
Research indicates that women are less likely to apply if they do not meet 100% of these criteria. Please note that this list is indicative, and we encourage applications from candidates who feel they meet at least 75% of the requirements. Skills can be learned; diversity cannot.
