Job Title: AWS Cloud Migration Architect

Location: Fully remote

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive (based on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

An established UK based MSP is seeking an AWS Cloud Migration Architect to design and lead large-scale migrations of on-prem workloads to AWS. This role blends hands-on migration delivery, network & security design and governance of cloud landing zones to ensure repeatable, secure and cost-effective cloud adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end AWS migration design and delivery (apps & data).
  • Architect secure multi-account Landing Zones (AWS Orgs, SCPs, Control Tower).
  • Design AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN).
  • Define migration runbooks, cutover/rollback strategies, and IaC templates.
  • Use migration tools (Application Migration Service, DMS, CloudEndure, Snow).
  • Embed governance/security (IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, Config, GuardDuty).
  • Mentor teams, run workshops, and contribute to bids/RFPs.
  • Hands-on with Terraform/CloudFormation & CI/CD.
  • Migration tooling experience (AMS, DMS, CloudEndure, etc.).
  • Security/compliance knowledge (IAM, GuardDuty, KMS).
  • Scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Strong stakeholder & workshop leadership.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in AWS cloud migrations, including design of secure multi-account environments (Landing Zones).
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency with migration tooling (e.g., AWS Application Migration Service, DMS, CloudEndure, AMS).
  • Strong understanding of cloud security and governance (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, Config).
  • Networking design experience (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN).
  • Programming/scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Ability to lead workshops and manage stakeholder expectations.
