AWS Solution Architect (IT) / Contractor Join to apply for the AWS Solution Architect (IT) / Contractor role at Free-Work UK. This 6‑month contract will be based in London and will be paid via an umbrella company at a rate of £450‑£500 per day. Key Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable, secure, high‑performance AWS cloud infrastructure that meets banking standards. Re‑envision the target state from the current data‑warehouse estate toward a data‑products/marketplace model on AWS/Snowflake. Review AWS infrastructure component design, usage, and implement enhancements. Build an ETL engine using AWS EMR for efficient data processing. Implement reporting solutions that integrate Tableau with AWS services. Develop containerised UI applications (front‑end & back‑end) using micro‑services architecture on Amazon EKS. Work with infrastructure‑as‑code, scripting (Python/Bash), Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes. Apply cloud security best practices and optimise supporting AWS services for performance and reliability. Provide technical leadership, guide the team, and continuously improve architecture, performance, and cost efficiency. Automate deployment processes and workflows with Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins. Monitor, optimise, and troubleshoot system performance, ensuring high availability.

Key Skills & Experience

Extensive AWS service knowledge, including Lambda. Avaloq experience. ETL development and integration of Tableau with AWS. Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service). Infrastructure‑as‑code, scripting (Python/Bash), Helm charts, Docker, Kubernetes. Tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins. CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Desirable Skills & Knowledge

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Banking domain experience. AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional. Experience with financial reporting systems or similar data‑intensive applications. Knowledge of Angular and Node.js for front‑end and back‑end development.
