Building Surveyor / Property Project Manager

The RSPCA Estates team provides property services across the National society portfolio, including freehold and leasehold properties. The Regional Building Surveyor is a key role in the team to manage maintenance and project delivery for internal customers, working closely with the Head of Property and other Regional Surveyors to provide technical expertise for sites and buildings.

Base pay range and related compensation details are discussed with your recruiter. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

Role details

  • Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Homebased with frequent travel to regional Hubs and Centres. Location preference: Midlands, England to cover higher workload in this region.

The Regional Building Surveyor will oversee maintenance and project delivery across the charity’s property portfolio, including:

  • New build animal housing
  • Water and drainage infrastructure upgrades
  • Decarbonisation works
  • Building refurbishments

This role involves appointing and managing consultants and contractors and providing leadership on property-related matters.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintenance planning and management across multiple sites
  • Project management of new build, refurbishment, and major maintenance projects
  • Procurement and supplier management

Qualifications and experience

  • Member of RICS or another recognised property-related organisation, or working toward membership
  • Experience in broad maintenance and project management
  • Experience in energy efficiency and decarbonisation works is a bonus
  • Extensive knowledge of Health and Safety, CDM regulations, Fire and Security procedures, and related legislation
  • Experience managing budgets, finance, projects, and contracts/contractors
  • Full Driving Licence
