Business Continuity and Resilience Officer – Hastings Direct

Role Summary: We’re looking for a Business Continuity and Resilience Officer to help drive our Operational Resilience Programme. You’ll work closely with teams across the business to ensure robust Business Continuity Plans and support broader resilience efforts.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Working with teams across the business to provide guidance and advice to create and update Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), ensuring they are practical and effective.
  • Offering advice and training on what good business continuity looks like.
  • Mapping out processes and assessing potential customer impact to support resilience work.
  • Leading our network of business continuity champions and ensuring they understand expectations.
  • Carrying out due diligence on third-party suppliers.
  • Keeping policies, standards, and guidance documents up to date.
  • Supporting the Senior Operational Resilience Manager and Risk Director to grow and improve resilience and continuity programmes.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in business continuity, operational or tech resilience—ideally in UK Financial Services and in a 2nd line or assurance role.
  • Good understanding of UK Financial Services regulations.
  • Confident reviewing and challenging continuity plans and test outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail.
  • Great communicator who can work with people at all levels.
  • Able to translate regulatory requirements into clear, practical advice.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership and works well independently.
  • Comfortable using Excel, PowerPoint, and risk management tools.
