About the Role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a fluent Russian-speaking Paralegal to join our dynamic and highly regarded Paralegal Team, working across both our Business Crime and Commercial Litigation/Civil Fraud departments.
You will support fee-earners with legal and administrative tasks, including translating and interpreting, drafting research memos, managing complex documents, and taking detailed notes during meetings and calls with clients, Counsel, and third parties. This role requires a high level of discretion, professionalism, and bilingual proficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to fee-earners
- Translate and interpret legal documents and communications (Russian ↔ English)
- Draft research memos and assist with litigation casework
- Take accurate notes of meetings, conferences, and calls
- Manage large volumes of complex documentation
- Liaise with Russian-speaking clients and international stakeholders
- Support in preparing court bundles and correspondence
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a conscientious, adaptable, and well-organised individual who thrives under pressure and is comfortable handling tight deadlines. A deep understanding of both English and Russian language and culture is essential.
Requirements:
- Fluent Russian and excellent written/spoken English
- A 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent) and LPC/BPTC with at least a commendation
- Ideally, bilingual or degree-level Russian; native Russian speakers must have at least one year’s UK-based professional experience
- Preferably 6+ months’ experience as a paralegal in business crime
- Demonstrable experience in document management and legal research
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office; legal databases such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, Practical Law)
- Outstanding attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- A proactive and positive work ethic
- Sanctions-related experience is advantageous
