A fast-growing energy solutions business is looking for a Business Development Manager to help drive growth in the UK data centre market. This person will focus on spotting and winning new opportunities around energy infrastructure for data centre developments and expansions – think backup power, thermal systems, grid support, and efficient heating and cooling.
What the role involves:
- Getting in early with developers, EPC contractors, and large data centre operators to build strong relationships.
- Building a solid pipeline of opportunities linked to power resilience, carbon reduction, and energy efficiency.
- Helping shape energy concept designs and feeding into early-stage plans.
- Working closely with technical teams to put together proposals that match what the client needs.
- Creating sales strategies that work for different types of data centre clients – from hyperscale to colocation.
- Keeping an eye on trends like low-carbon systems and off-grid solutions.
- Representing the business at industry events and networking opportunities.
- Remote role with travel to customers when required
What we’re looking for:
- Someone with a strong background in business development across energy, power, CHP, HVAC, or related sectors.
- Good understanding of how the UK data centre world works, especially around site development and energy.
- A solid network across developers, EPCs, consultants, and other key players in the space.
- Someone confident talking to clients, spotting opportunities, and getting deals over the line.
- A hands-on approach with good commercial instincts.
- Technical background (mechanical or electrical) would be a bonus, but not essential.
This is a great role for someone who knows the data centre and energy space and wants to help shape the future of power systems in this fast-growing sector.
