Job Opportunity: Business Development Manager (BDM) – Sussex Region

My client, a leading supplier of professional coating products and services, is seeking an experienced BDM to cover the Sussex Region.

Ideal Candidate: A successful new business sales professional with a true HUNTER approach, ideally with coating industry experience (Automotive Refinishing, Industrial, Wood Coatings, Light Industrial, Refinishing).

Location & Compensation: This is a remote opportunity with trips to the Head Office near Portsmouth when required. Salary ranges from £44,000 to £50,000 + DOE, with an OTE of £80,000+ (uncapped).

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products, and services.
  2. Establish new business through an active sales pipeline process, recorded in SharePoint.
  3. Implement new business in line with the business group's strategy.
  4. Seek out the appropriate contacts within organizations.
  5. Meet with customers/clients face-to-face, over the phone, or via video call.
  6. Record all visits and interactions using the current reporting platform.
  7. Develop and maintain strong business relationships internally and externally.
  8. Identify key areas for development within customer portfolios.
  9. Maintain a customer database for mailshot campaigns via head office.
  10. Capture and feedback competitor and market information.
  11. Handover new accounts to the region after a 3-month initial development period.
