We are looking for:
An experienced Business Development Manager to join our insulbar division within Ensinger UK. This is a unique role with significant opportunity to make an impact. Our ideal candidate must have knowledge and experience of fenestration, aluminium windows, construction or similar.
This role can be undertaken remotely and is available across the United Kingdom, however occasional visits to our Head Office site in Tonyrefail will be required.
This role will be maintaining and developing our key accounts and generating new business opportunities. We are looking for someone with experience in business development, account management and customer relationship building. The role reports directly to the division Director and will have an Internal Sales Person reporting to them.
About the Division:
Under the brand name insulbar, Ensinger produces plastic insulating strips, a vital component of modern window, door and façade systems made of metal. They separate the inner and outer aluminium or steel frames with a thermal separation, and are extremely efficient at preventing energy losses in buildings, thereby sustainably improving metal window systems, saving on energy, and heating costs.
Purpose of the role:
The Business Development Manager will primarily be responsible for targeting new business opportunities to facilitate growth of the division’s product portfolio, and servicing existing UK key accounts to the highest standard. The Business Development Manager will report directly to the Head of Sales and Division Director, and will work closely with our colleagues within our German Head Office, to assume sales responsibility for defined customers and / or customer segments, and will contribute to improving the company's overall market position, by ensuring a high level of service and promoting the company's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Scope & Relationships:
Alongside the small sales team at our UK Head Office, and colleagues based at our German Head Office, the Business Development Manager role will build customer relationships through generation and qualification of leads, acquisition of new sales opportunities and customers, in line with the Division’s strategic growth objectives.
- Acquisition of new customers, projects, and sales opportunities.
- Develop relationships with established customers, ensuring all key accounts are effectively managed.
- Proactively campaign industries through web research, calling and mail shots with a view to saturating the Company’s portfolio of products and generate your own business and leads.
- Implementation of the sales development processes:
- Preparation and execution of sales presentations at the customer's premises.
- Follow-up of customer discussions into the internal organisation.
- Establishment and expansion of a network of relationships with the customer.
- Maintain customer information and pricelists within the SAP and legacy systems.
- Implementation and tracking of sales and marketing measures.
- Have market awareness, including pricing by competitors, and provide the sales team with any information received regarding customers and competitors.
- Providing customers with pricing and sizing quotations based on their requirements and following up in a timely manner to secure the business.
- Order review and clarification in cooperation with Order Management.
- Sales and distribution planning.
- Collaboration with all internal departments / interfaces.
- Ensure pro-activity is conducted, new business targets are met and reporting of the defined KPIs for the area are provided.
- Extensive travel throughout the UK, including Ireland will be necessary. Travel globally including Scandinavia may also be required from time to time, dependant on the customers’ requirements.
- Report monthly or more frequently when required, in writing, departmental activities.
- Liaise closely with colleagues and other departments in a professional and courteous manner and treat relevant information in a confidential manner if necessary for the benefit of the Company.
Experience:
- A strong background in the fenestration sector is essential. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of window, door, and façade systems, including relevant UK standards and compliance frameworks. Experience working with fabricators, system houses, or component suppliers is highly desirable.
- A proven track record in business development, with the ability to identify and convert opportunities within both existing and new customer accounts. The role requires commercial acumen, strategic account growth planning, and confidence in presenting technical solutions to procurement teams, specifiers, and decision-makers.
- Knowledge or experience with thermal break technology and aluminium profile systems would be advantageous. This includes an understanding of how thermal barriers function within aluminium windows, doors, and facades, and the ability to support customers on both specification and performance queries is desired.
