We’re Brickwall, a creative agency that specialises in making films that matter.
Our work spans animation, documentary, and branded content—with purpose and clarity at the heart of every project. Whether we’re helping brands articulate their mission, or crafting beautifully human stories, we believe in insight-driven, purpose-led storytelling.
Our sister brand, Slate & Grain, brings corporate storytelling to life with rich narratives and high-end production values across film and animation. Slate & Grain provide new creative perspectives & ideas, working in collaboration with corporates, or their in-house teams, to deliver beautifully made films of the stories that matter.
We're proud to be recognised as one of Televisual’s Top 50 UK production companies, and even prouder of our reputation for honest, impactful work. With a tight-knit team of passionate creatives, we deliver work that’s both strategically sound and emotionally resonant.
This role involves working across both Brickwall and Slate & Grain.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a commercially savvy, collaborative Business Development Manager to join us while a team member is on maternity leave. There’s real potential for this to become a longer-term opportunity if it’s a good fit.
This role is about helping us grow—proactively generating new leads, building strong relationships, and turning creative thinking into winning proposals.
You’ll use smart thinking to spot new opportunities for growth. You’ll expand and leverage your networks to bring in new leads. You’ll; work closely with our creative and production teams to shape ideas and craft visually engaging, strategically sound decks and documents. And whilst you won’t be doing this alone—we’re a collaborative bunch— you’ll be the one driving the commercial conversations forward.
If you’re confident speaking to clients, good at spotting opportunities, and love turning ideas into action, this could be for you.
What You’ll Do
- Generate new leads and opportunities through outreach, referrals, networking and smart thinking
- Qualify and nurture inbound leads to understand client goals
- Work closely with our creative and production teams to develop proposals, quotes and pitch decks
- Write and design compelling documents that clearly communicate ideas and value
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, helping identify new opportunities
- Track pipeline activity and share regular updates with the leadership team
- Represent the Brickwall voice and values
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in business development, partnerships, or account growth— in a video production or creative agency environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong instinct for what clients need—and how to frame ideas that meet those needs
- Experience creating visually polished, persuasive pitch decks and proposals
- Comfortable working across teams and coaxing the best ideas from others
- Organised, proactive, and energised by turning potential into progress
- A team player who fits into a warm, values-led company culture
The Details
- Minimum 3 days/week (flexible depending on demand and your availability)
- Hybrid role – ideally one day per week in our London office
- Initial contract to cover maternity leave (approx. 12 months) with the possibility to extend
- We’re not a commission-led business—we believe in rewarding contribution fairly and thoughtfully, but we’re open to discussing performance-related incentives that align with our culture
