About the opportunity

To support an increasing pipeline of opportunities arising from the UCL research base, we are seeking to recruit a high‑quality candidate to the role of Business Manager in the Physical Science & Engineering (PS&E) team.

What you'll be doing

The individual will work on the identification, development and commercialisation of a portfolio of projects arising from across the Faculties of Engineering, Mathematics & Physical Science with a focus on AI, Robotics, Computer Science and related disciplines. This role provides a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with academic staff of a globally rated Top 10 University, investors, industry and other professionals.

What experience you'll need

  • At minimum a first degree or equivalent in an engineering or physical science‑related discipline, with a strong AI, robotics or Computer Science component, and demonstrated experience and success in technology commercialisation.
  • Entrepreneurial and innovative mindset, having worked within start‑up environments or advised on product development and/or growth strategies.
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, with excellent negotiation, communication and organisational skills necessary to identify and develop early‑stage technology commercialisation projects.

What you'll get in return for your talents

A competitive salary of £49,000 to £60,000 depending on experience and qualifications, plus a performance‑related pay scheme of up to 10% of salary, generous holiday allowance (31 days & 8 bank holidays), flexible and hybrid working (2 days in the central London office per week, 3 days WFH), private healthcare and a defined‑contribution pension scheme with up to 16% contribution from us.
