Business Support Officer - Statutory Services

New Yesterday

Business Support is key to the success of our Children's Services because our Business Support teams are there, making sure things run smoothly, so that our frontline colleagues can deliver for children and families in the community. All that work in the background doesn't just happen, it takes dedicated colleagues, taking pride in their work and seeing a purpose in the work they are doing.

The post holder will be predominantly office based, although some home working is arranged on a rota basis depending on the demands of the service.

This post is a fixed-term position working full-time (37 hours per week) until the end of March 2026.

Main Responsibilities

You will provide core business functions and work closely with team managers, social workers, professionals, and partners. This includes attending and servicing various statutory meetings across the Districts.

You need full knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to utilise its main applications.

You will chase workers for paperwork to ensure work is completed by deadlines. Part of this role involves inputting data into our database, sharing data, and maintaining the database's accuracy by cleansing data as needed.

You will also undertake financial payments, including ordering equipment and paying out cash. There will also be opportunities to support wider office functions to deliver all business support services.

The Ideal Candidate

Working in Business Support requires teamwork, good organisational skills, and a good level of IT competency. You will also need:
