Managing Consultant at Spotlight Recruitment

Buyer – online retail – Up to £60k + bonus – Hybrid 3 days from London office.

Our client is a fast-growth, global retail brand are looking to onboard an ambitious and creative Buyer to join their highly collaborative team. This is a hybrid role working 3 days from the central London office each week, there is real focus on employee engagement and continued learning and development. There may be some occasional international travel.

The Buyer role is a creative and analytical position, working closely with the Head of Operations and other internal teams as they continued to grow globally. You will be joining a small friendly team who like to deliver a really unique customer experience. As Buyer you will be optimising product margins, ensuring stock availability, and negotiating competitive deals to enhance gifting technology. The Buyer will drive sourcing strategies, maintain seamless product availability, and support gifting and promotional initiatives working closely with other teams. You will track performance for both suppliers and stock, looking at marketplace trends to ensure competitive pricing and availability and successful stock strategies. This role will work closely with Amazon and other online marketplaces. Both creative and analytical skills will flourish in this role!

What do I need?

• Creative and curious mindset, ability to thrive in an agile, growth environment
• Excellent stake holder management skills, ability to build strong business relationships
• 4–6 years of experience as a Buyer or in a similar purchasing role within an e-commerce, marketplace, or online retail environment.
• Strong analytical skills across forecasting and stock optimisation
• A passion for products, always staying ahead of the latest product trends
• Proven negotiation skills, securing competitive pricing and favourable supplier agreements.
• In-depth understanding of online marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, eBay, Shopify)
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
