A distinguished opportunity is available for a Casualty Injury Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join the Insurance Disputes team of a nationally recognised law firm in Birmingham. The role involves managing a sophisticated caseload, including Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims (including complex Multi Track matters), and supporting senior colleagues on high-value catastrophic injury cases. What you\'ll do

In the capacity of Casualty Injury Solicitor within this preeminent Insurance Disputes team based in Birmingham, you will:

  • Independently manage a caseload comprising Employers’ Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) claims, including complex Multi Track matters that require meticulous attention to detail and strategic acumen.
  • Assist senior fee earners in the conduct of high-value catastrophic injury claims arising predominantly from industrial accidents.
  • Collaborate with clients such as direct corporate entities, commercial insurers, and third-party administrators acting for Underwriters, ensuring professional and diligent representation.
  • Participate in business development initiatives by delivering client seminars and engaging in team marketing events.
  • Provide guidance and direction to colleagues within the team to ensure agreed strategies and interim objectives are realized efficiently.
  • Exercise sound judgment in case management, including time management, file maintenance, and preparation of management information for insurer clients.
  • Draft precise and articulate legal documents tailored for internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Ensure compliance with insurer client SLAs, reporting formats, and regulatory requirements relevant to the insurance disputes sector.

What you bring

To excel as a Casualty Injury Solicitor within this distinguished Insurance Disputes team, you will bring:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience managing personal injury claims and litigation within a reputable law firm or insurance disputes context.
  • Demonstrated capability to independently oversee a caseload involving EL and PL claims, including complex Multi Track matters.
  • Experience supporting Partner-level fee earners on substantial or intricate cases.
  • Exemplary advocacy skills and superior written English for drafting legal documents for internal and external audiences.
  • Understanding of insurer client SLAs, reporting protocols, management information preparation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in legal research using online resources to ground advice in current jurisprudence.
  • Effective project management abilities to guide colleagues toward agreed strategies while upholding high standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence, build client relationships, and foster team collaboration.
  • Sound judgment with initiative to respond to evolving circumstances while focusing on desired outcomes.
