As the Category & Sourcing Lead will support the Head of Category & Sourcing and the broader Procurement transformation through category excellence, driving the development and execution of key strategic activity translating the Procurement strategy into market leading deliverables to drive value beyond price initiatives.

The Category & Sourcing Lead will lead the respective procurement team to assist Santander UK and other group entities that Santander Uk provide service to in achieving its cost to income targets. The team will achieve this as subject matter experts and be the first point of call for professional advisory support acting as a key enabler to achieve the optimum outcomes for the bank. They will lead on driving internal and external NPS scores

As Category & Sourcing Lead you'll play a key part in the continual evolvement of Cost Management and Procurement, driving us towards Even Better Cost Management and Procurement. Liaising across the organisation to generate a full and accurate category demand, providing analysis on movements from this in the actual demand, and recommendations in how to enhance the banks cost position. You will act as an expert reference point for the banks cost management process and the external market. You will also ensure that quality, compliance and cost-effectiveness of the work delivered by our suppliers meets Santander expectations

The specific responsibility of the role is to lead and manage the team to deliver the following:

• Development and executive approval of category strategies ensuring the true end to end cost picture, opportunities, risks and innovation are fully articulated and understood.
• Bring market insight, thought leadership and knowledge to the business to execute industry leading commercial models demonstrating value creation capabilities.
• Develop insightful benchmarking data to support and challenge business decisions.
• Drive collaboration and stakeholder management at an executive level within the business and with external partners/suppliers.
• Understanding procurement systems and generate channel strategy to promote the maximum efficient use of these

• Proven record of successful category management in a global procurement organization.
• Subject matter expert for the category and contracts under management, and generalist expertise across other areas.
• Understands complex large contracts, commercial influences and technical drafting
• Ability to perform cost driver analysis, from source to pay, contract reviews and financial MI.

• Knowledge of process management and process improvement
• Experience in management of Procurement systems
• Experience of building high performing teams

• Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus.
