CBM Engineer Vibration & Lubrication

We've got an exciting opportunity for a CBM Engineer, Vibration & Lubrication, to join Thames Water. The role holder will assist in the development and continuous improvement of the vibration condition monitoring strategy as an integral part of the maintenance strategy. This role is critical to driving a new systems-led, proactive maintenance approach as part of our AMP8 plan.
You will form strong relationships with operational teams to drive the condition monitoring plan and maintenance. You will also advise on condition monitoring requirements and technical specifications of equipment.
What you'll be doing as a CBM Engineer, Vibration & Lubrication
- Conduct routine vibration-based condition monitoring analysis on critical assets.
- Create reports and recommendations for Operations and Asset Management.
- Recommend maintenance improvements based on long-term data trends.
- Perform technical appraisals and advise on cost-effective maintenance regimes.
- Ensure proper data collection routines and database updates.
- Follow through on condition-triggered work, visiting sites as needed.
- Conduct lubrication surveys and recommend asset life extensions.
- Support thermography processes in operations.
- This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on-site.
What you should bring to the role
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
- Vibration analysis Level 2 (BINDT or Mobius) is essential.
- Thermography and lubrication analysis Level 1 preferred.
- Experience in condition monitoring vibration data analysis and reporting.
- Experience creating assets, points, and routes in vibration analysis software.
- Lubrication specification experience is desirable.
- Operational/maintenance engineering experience.
- Confidence in leading technical discussions.
- Analytical, problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical info to non-technical audiences.
- Full UK driving license is essential.
