Clinical Nurse Trainer
Location: Field-Based
Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate nurse who can split their expertise between training and direct patient care. This unique, field based position combines the responsibilities of a Clinical Nurse Trainer delivering professional education to healthcare teams with those of a Homecare Nurse, providing hands on clinical support to patients in their homes.
You will have experience in using and training others on clinical monitoring equipment, ensuring both staff and patients can operate devices safely and effectively. You'll act as a trusted clinical resource, delivering exceptional standards of care while empowering others through training.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Education
- Deliver high-quality training to clinical teams, patients, and carers both face to face and virtually.
- Provide expert guidance on the safe use and interpretation of monitoring equipment and associated therapies.
- Develop and maintain evidence-based training materials, elearning modules, and competency assessments.
- Support onboarding and upskilling of homecare staff, ensuring adherence to best practice and regulatory standards.
- Provide direct patient care in the home setting, including assessment, treatment, and monitoring of long-term conditions.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot monitoring devices, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Educate patients and families on condition management, equipment use, and self-care.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and effective communication.
- Report adverse events, incidents, and escalate clinical concerns in line with policy.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Current NMC registration (Adult or Paediatric).
- Minimum 2 years' post-registration nursing experience, ideally with exposure to homecare or community settings.
- Proven experience with clinical monitoring equipment (set-up, troubleshooting, training).
- Clinical training, mentorship, or education experience (formal or informal).
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the North of England.
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt information to diverse audiences.
- Additional qualifications in CVAD care, parenteral nutrition, or disease-specific therapies.
- Experience in virtual/remote patient support.
- Patient-focused, compassionate, and clinically confident.
- Skilled at both independent work and collaborative team engagement.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to juggle training schedules and patient visits.
- Confident in using technology to deliver education and monitor patient outcomes.
Why Join Us?
- Competitive salary and excellent benefits (private medical insurance, pension, life insurance).
- 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.
- Company car, fuel card, and lunch allowance.
- Flexible working with a balance of face-to-face visits and virtual support.
- Ongoing professional development including safeguarding, infection prevention, and BLS training.
- A varied and rewarding role-combining education, clinical expertise, and meaningful patient impact.
