Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive ASD developmental histories using NICE guideline–compliant methods/tools to evaluate children and adults undergoing Autism assessments.
- Conduct ADHD assessments.
- Opportunity to undertake ADOS assessments if ADOS-2 trained.
- Assess children and young people aged 3–18 years and adults 18+.
- Observe and engage clients during sessions, asking questions in an age-appropriate and compassionate manner.
- Review ADOS reports, developmental history, and relevant collateral information from home, school, and observer information in the same session.
- Formulate a diagnosis, conclude the assessment, and provide feedback to the family in a kind and compassionate manner, including recommendations and signposting to local/national resources.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) in planned clinics; offer separate follow-up sessions to conclude the diagnosis if needed.
- Produce high-quality, detailed diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment, adhering to DSM-5 criteria and report templates (admin support for formatting and quality control is provided).
- Request onward referrals as clinically necessary, in line with local NHS Trust/ICB protocols.
What We’re Looking For
- HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist
- Expertise and confidence in ASD and ADHD assessments for children, young people, and/or adults
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as Conners, ADI-R, DIVA-5, CAARS, and QB testing
- Professional who embodies values of trust, integrity, commitment, and kindness
- Passionate about delivering clinical excellence
- Specialist interest in neurodiversity
