Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed psychological assessments across a range of case types.
  • Deliver short to medium‑term CBT interventions.
  • Prepare impartial, structured medico‑legal reports compliant with CPR Part 35.
  • Attend court and tribunal hearings as an expert witness.
  • Participate in case conferences and contribute to joint statements.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with GDPR, HCPC, and NHS/private practice standards.
  • Stay current with legal and clinical developments through CPD and supervision.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or HCPC-recognised equivalent).
  • HCPC registration and minimum 2 years’ post‑qualification experience.
  • Formal CBT training and experience delivering interventions.
  • Proven ability to produce high‑quality medico‑legal reports (Bond Solon or equivalent training desirable).
  • Knowledge of CPR Part 35 and PD 35 obligations.
  • Experience giving oral evidence in court (desirable).
  • Exposure to serious injury, clinical negligence, and mental capacity case types.
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to present impartial expert evidence with clarity and authority.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Professional integrity, independence of thought, and commitment to evidence‑based practice.
  • Passion for continuous learning and development.
