Thales supports flexible working patterns where possible.Cloud DevOps Engineer - AWS (Reading, hybrid)ResponsibilitiesDevelopment dutiesLead the implementation and setup of Cloud technologies in collaboration with technical leaders of the engineering teams.Develop and set up automation tools (CI/CD) to support development, validation, integration and deployment of cloud solutions.Write guidelines, installation guides, documentation and training materials to enable the engineering team to work autonomously with these technologies.Support dutiesTrain engineering teams on cloud-based technologies and CI/CD tools to support the cloud transformation and autonomy.Provide guidance during architecture definition (security audit, architecture design, pre-sales).Communication dutiesCoordinate with other cloud engineers across IBS product lines, DIS BL, and corporate groups (CCoE/CTO).QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in computer science or Information Technology related field.Experience of software development (server-side).Experience with deployment and maintenance of highly available solutions on AWS.Experience in system integration and deployment of cloud-based technology (IaaS, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, monitoring, authentication, repositories).Experience writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.Experience with various database models (SQL, NoSQL, S3, NAS) as designer or administrator.Experience in large, complex distributed systems with high availability and scalability (application server, message-broker, streaming, load-balancing).Experience in network protocols (SOAP/REST, HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, WAF, RTCP).Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, scripting, and CI/CD principles.Good knowledge of operating systems (Windows/Linux) and proficiency in at least one development language (Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, Go).AWS SAA or AWS SAP certification is a plus.Security ClearanceThis role requires SC Clearance. If not currently held, the successful applicant will need to obtain and maintain SC Clearance. Eligible candidates should reside in the UK for the last 5 years (with some circumstances allowing a minimum of 3 years). For guidance, refer to the UK Security Vetting processes.Evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK, and employment/education history may be requested.
