You will be part of a key team of experts in coastal flood risk modelling, providing an essential part of the evidence base to support the Environment Agency’s Asset Management programme and supporting reducing the flood risk to people across the country. Responsibilities

Deal with complex flood risk modelling challenges across England’s varied coastline. Provide expert technical leadership and advice in coastal flood risk modelling. Champion the importance of modelling evidence within the business. Identify skills gaps and drive improvements in modelling capabilities. Flag issues and drive solutions in collaboration with senior management. Respond to incidents and provide business continuity support during incidents.

Qualifications

Strong, demonstrable experience of coastal flood risk modelling technical leadership. Experienced with industry coastal flood risk modelling packages. Developed modelling technical standards and guidance. Prioritised across a wide set of responsibilities. Excellent communication skills, proactively engaging with colleagues and partners. Constructively challenged technical performance of colleagues and delivery partners. Influenced at a strategic level, explaining complex issues simply. Supported, encouraged and developed the skills of technical colleagues.
