Due to our ambitious growth plans we are looking to strengthen our team in a number of roles.
Pulse are looking to hire a Commercial Operations IT Specialist on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Wokingham, the Commercial Operations IT Specialist will work closely with the Commercial Operations IT Lead to support and assist the development of Pulse’s commercial offering. The role will eventually take ownership of certain aspects of Pulse’s IT system and work closely with both internal staff across all office locations and end customers. The role is envisaged to be split between handling IT support escalations, infrastructure management & system monitoring, and supporting project deployments.
Duties & Main Responsibilities
Remotely supporting Pulse field/offshore operations & data services
Assist with IT system deployments relating to Pulse commercial operations
Monitoring, administration, and maintenance of Pulse’s commercial cloud services
Work with IT Lead to maintain and continuously improve cyber security in the Pulse commercial service offerings
Contribute to procedure and process documentation for Pulse Commercial IT infrastructure (both cloud and on-prem)
Keep abreast of technology innovations in the IT sector, with focus on how Pulse can benefit from adoption
Skills - Essential
5 Years or greater in IT support roles (or similar)
Experience at 3rd line & above in a helpdesk environment
Self‑motivated and capable of independent working, but also happy to work within & across teams/disciplines
Able to solve problems in complex technical solutions
Knowledge of Cyber Security & Purdue Model
Azure Services; Azure AD B2B/B2C
Firewalls & TCP/IP OSI networking model
Windows Server & HyperV
Linux (Ubuntu/Debian/Flatcar) & Docker
Telegraf, InfluxDB, Grafana (TIG) stack
System remote monitoring/telemetry
Reverse Proxy & WAF solutions
Scripting (Powershell, Bash, etc.)
Creating and maintaining technical system documentation
Working within a quality assured environment
Skills – Desirable
Experience supporting commercial cloud services/solutions
Engineering background/experience working within an engineering environment
Experience of using message bus solutions for microservices
Working within an Agile/DevOps environment (making use of GitHub or Azure DevOps)
Deployment automation solutions (Terraform, Bicep etc.)
Industrial data exchange protocols (MODBUS, MQTT, OPC‑DA/UA etc.)
SharePoint/IIS and/or Drupal/Acquia
Understanding of Open‑Source software projects and development environments
Running Dotnet/Go applications
Kubernetes
Skills - Advantageous
Understanding of TSN or EtherCAT
Loki and/or Prometheus
Experience with FreeBSD
