A respected UK law firm is seeking a Competition Associate or Senior Associate (2–6 PQE) to join its London team. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with a Band 2 Chambers-ranked Partner on high-quality competition law matters, with a primary focus on non-contentious work.

The Role

You’ll be involved in a broad spectrum of competition work, including:

  • UK and EU merger control
  • Competition compliance and advisory matters
  • CMA and regulatory investigations
  • Strategic competition and regulatory support on major transactions

The team is intentionally lean, meaning you will gain significant visibility, responsibility, and client contact from day one. You will also play a key role in supporting the growth and development of the practice, offering clear scope to advance your career.

About You

  • 2–6 PQE in competition law, ideally from a leading national, City, or international firm
  • Strong non-contentious experience (merger control, compliance, investigations); contentious exposure a plus but not essential
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to deliver practical, client-focused advice
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset and interest in business development
