OverviewConstruction Director role at BAM UK & Ireland. Based in the London Region. Reporting to the Regional Director and a member of the Senior Management Team, you will lead a portfolio of projects from pre-construction through to completion and aftercare.Key responsibilitiesTaking the lead in the bidding of tenders and negotiations, overseeing the pre-construction process, and managing delivery on site followed by aftercare.Managing construction teams to deliver quality projects within budgets and programme timescales, ensuring high client satisfaction.Business development including building and strengthening relationships with key clients and consultants to maintain a steady pipeline of work.Engaging in project planning and management, coordinating design and construction activities at pre-construction stage.Managing a multi-disciplinary team, providing leadership and direction to create a high performing team.Liaising with other BAM businesses (FM, Design, Building Services, Site Solutions, Properties, etc.) to create synergies and add-value for clients where possible.Sharing market information from projects with the region and wider company where relevant.Developing relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain to build long-term and productive partnerships.Being a visible leader on health and safety and promoting a culture of improvement with safety as the overriding priority.Managing staff requirements in line with region workload demands.Collaborating with the commercial team to ensure the commercial success of projects and contribute to regional performance.Advocating and embedding BAM values, driving the sustainability strategy, and fostering inclusion and psychological safety.Your teamHybrid working across London offices.What’s in it for you?A wide range of family-friendly policies8% matched pension contributionsLife assurance26 days holidayPersonal and professional developmentWhat do you bring to the role?Experience at senior level, strong interpersonal skills, ability to engage with clients and external consultants while building internal and external relationships.Understanding of both private and public sector procurement processes; comfortable in a time-critical, fast-moving environment.Ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team.Effective and persuasive internal and external communication skills.Ability to multi-task and provide focus, direction and solutions where required.About BAMBuilding a sustainable tomorrow.
