Construction Solicitor – 3–6 PQE – Non-Contentious FocusLocation: Reading (Hybrid working available)Salary: Competitive / DOEPractice Area: Construction Law (Non-Contentious & Some Contentious)Job Type: Full-Time, PermanentI’m working with a modern and forward-thinking commercial law firm in the Thames Valley that is looking to grow its specialist Construction team with the hire of a Construction Solicitor, ideally with 3–6 years’ PQE and a focus on non-contentious work.This is an exciting role for a lawyer looking to take the next step in their construction law career, joining a close-knit team with big ambitions. While the majority of the work is non-contentious, you’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in contentious matters, so some prior experience on both sides is ideal.You’ll be advising developers, contractors, funders, and consultants on a wide range of transactional construction matters, and will work closely with the wider real estate, commercial, and corporate teams across the firm.What they’re looking for:4–6 years’ experience in non-contentious construction lawStrong understanding of standard form contracts including JCT, NEC, and FIDICExperience drafting and negotiating bespoke amendments to construction documentsConfident reviewing consultant appointments, warranties, novations, and related documentsKnowledge of UK procurement, H&S legislation, insurance, and risk allocationSome exposure to contentious matters such as disputes and adjudicationsComfortable with business development and managing client relationshipsA proactive and collaborative approach with strong communication skillsThe role includes:Advising on and drafting construction contracts, appointments, warranties, and guaranteesSupporting real estate, commercial and corporate teams on development projectsHelping to grow the firm’s construction offering in the Thames Valley and beyondPlaying a visible role in business development and cross-team collaborationWhy consider this role?You’ll join a firm that combines high-quality work with a supportive and modern working culture.
