Join our dynamic team in Manchester as a Divisional Environmental Health (EH) Consultant! This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality consultancy services aligned with Shield Safety’s mission to make the world a safer place to eat, work, and play.

As a Divisional EH Consultant, you'll focus on building trusted relationships with our customers, identifying practical solutions aligned with our products, and effectively communicating these to enhance governance and safety culture. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include a range of consultancy activities that support these goals, all while leading and developing a high-performing team of Environmental Health Principal, Senior, and Graduate EHP consultants within the Safety Consultancy division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance to ensure consultants consistently identify and communicate key risks and focus areas across food safety, fire safety, health and safety, and licensing.
  • Ensure consultants deliver practical, product-aligned solutions that support Shield Safety’s mission and meet client needs.
  • Maintain and deepen team expertise in Shield Safety’s product suite, fostering close collaboration with the Product team to influence and support the development and launch of new offerings.
  • Identify opportunities to expand and enhance consultancy services, supporting innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the team maintains subject matter expertise in Safe to Trade, including comprehensive knowledge of its Standards and bolt-ons.

Requirements:

  • Strong commercial background
  • Hospitality / Retail / Food Business Operator experience highly desirable
  • BSc (Hons) or MSc (Hons) in Environmental Health
  • Preferably EHORB / EHRB / Registered EHP / Chartered EHP
  • Strong and influential communicator at all levels, equally comfortable meeting with the Board of Directors or the Kitchen Team
  • Ability to interpret and present data to provide insight and drive strategy
  • Commitment to ongoing personal development
  • IT literate and competent in MS Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Full valid UK driving license and flexibility to travel nationwide to customer meeting
