Bioinformatician - Remote working contract - 6 months - outside IR35 paying £450 a day depending on experience - CNV - DNA sequencing

Exalto consulting are currently recruiting for a contract Bioinformatician, this is outside IR35 and initially 6 months paying up to £450 a day depending on experience

Essential experience for the role:

• PhD/Masters degree in bioinformatics, data/computer science or related field

• >3 years experience in applied bioinformatics and Illumina NGS omics data

• Hands on-experience with DNASeq analysis pipelines from BCL/FASTQ to VCF

• Experience with CNV calling from WGS/ WES

• Experience with somatic variant calling in an Oncology context

• Strong programming skills with Python (and/or R) and bash scripting/Linux

• Experience with benchmarking bioinformatics tools

• Experience with cloud computing and ideally AWS

• Experience with github and version control

• Pipelining experience with Nextflow or equivalents
