Overview

Tenerity Limited is seeking a Contract Legal Counsel to join its dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will be a UK-qualified lawyer with good drafting and negotiation skills in English, capable of managing a broad range of procurement, vendor and commercial contracts autonomously. You will act as a key legal advisor for the UK market, providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice and managing contractual matters with external counsel support when needed.

The role requires a good understanding of data protection laws and regulations, with an ability to apply these effectively in practice. Ideal candidates will bring prior in-house or B2C experience within a technology-driven or customer-focused environment.

Working within a global team of approximately ten legal counsels, including colleagues based in the UK and internationally, the position reports to a senior team member. We are looking for a proactive individual with a commercial mindset, collaborative approach, and enthusiastic personality, eager to contribute to Tenerity’s mission of delivering innovative customer engagement and loyalty solutions.

Tenerity Limited is a technology-led marketing loyalty company specialising in customer engagement solutions and cashback subscription programs offering access to consumers to a large network of retailers, travel offers, insurance benefits, online cyber protection and other services.

We are looking for someone mid-level (3-5 years post qualification experience).

Responsibilities

UK Vendor, Technology and Commercial contracts

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating supplier, technology and procurement contracts, as well as commercial agreements, in full autonomy.
  • Review and improve standard templates.
  • Advise the rest of the team on drafting techniques and key contractual issues.
  • Drafting and reviewing US contracts (no prior knowledge of US law required), as and when needed.

Data protection

  • Advise on data protection matters relating to customer personal data and the proper processing of personal data.
  • Provide support for the team’s GDPR annual audit.
  • Provide answers to subject access requests or escalated complaints.
  • Negotiate and enter into data processing agreements.

Compliance/Regulatory and Consumer Protection

  • Provide assistance on consumer protection rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Drafting T&Cs
  • Provide specific advice and general assistance to maintain and protect our FCA related governance structure in the UK (risk management) register and litigation log up to date, monitoring regulatory changes and sending regulatory updates to the business.

Qualifications

  • Excellent drafting skills in English, with the ability to produce clear, precise, and commercially sound documentation.
  • Strong understanding of negotiation strategies and key contractual issues, including indemnities, liabilities, and risk allocation.
  • Pragmatic and commercially minded approach, capable of managing all contractual activities across the UK, with support from external counsel as required.
  • In-depth knowledge of data protection regulations and a solid grasp of their practical application in business operations.
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
