Location

National. Flexible. May work in Environment Agency offices and attend national meetings.

Responsibilities

  • This role supports the achievement of the Environment Agency’s net zero fleet targets by managing purchase and service contracts for the Agency and Defra partners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to identify business needs, set contract strategy and lead tender processes, including award of contracts.
  • Oversee entire contract lifecycle in partnership with contract managers, working with suppliers to reduce environmental footprint, maintain a cost‑effective fleet and deliver legal and health & safety responsibilities.
  • Respond to incidents as a central part of the role, undertaking required training and participation.
  • Report to the Fleet Manager (Contract Performance).

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Collaboration with colleagues across the organisation and suppliers.
  • Influence and persuade internal and external stakeholders.
  • Forward thinker, able to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Experience of procurement processes within Defra desirable.
