We have committed to being a net zero organisation and Defra Group Fleet Services (DGFS) is responsible for leading the fleet transition to achieving this.

Role Responsibilities

  • Set contract strategy and lead tender processes including award of contracts for the Environment Agency and Defra Partners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to identify business needs and deliver varied programmes of purchase and service contracts.
  • Work with contract managers to oversee contracts through the whole lifecycle, influence supplier performance and reduce environmental footprint.
  • Respond to incidents and provide training as required.

Team and Reporting

You will work within a team of contract specialists and report to the Fleet Manager (Contract Performance). You will collaborate with other parts of the fleet team to develop contract requirements and award and manage supplier performance.

  • Forward-thinking mindset to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Experience of the procurement processes within Defra desirable.

Working Patterns & Location

Full time, flexible. You may work from EA offices and attend national meetings, including overnight stays. You are comfortable with remote working and the challenges of management.
