This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of fleet specialists to support the delivery of ambitious fleet targets and lead tender processes including award of contracts.
As a member of the Contracts, Performance & Risk Team you will work with contract managers overseeing the contract lifecycle, influence and manage supplier performance and deliver on legal and health & safety responsibilities.
Responding to incidents is a central part of the role and you will undertake required training and participation. The position reports to the Fleet Manager (Contract Performance).
Responsibilities
- Oversee contract lifecycles for purchase and service contracts on behalf of the Environment Agency and Defra Partners.
- Identify business needs, set contract strategy, and lead tender processes.
- Reduce suppliers’ environmental footprint and maintain a cost‑effective fleet.
- Influence internal and external stakeholders and contribute to operational delivery.
- Support incident response and training requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with contracts and has good commercial acumen.- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Collaboration with colleagues across the organisation and suppliers.
- Influence and persuade internal and external stakeholders.
- Forward thinking and ability to identify opportunities and risks.
Experience of the procurement processes within Defra would be desirable.

Benefits & Working Conditions
The post is Full Time but requests for other work patterns will be considered. As part of a national team the location is flexible. You may be required to work in EA offices and attend national meetings, possibly with some overnight stays. You will be comfortable with remote working and management.
