Overview
Due to continued growth and project successes, we are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to join our Energy Division. The Contracts Manager will oversee a portfolio of critical infrastructure projects throughout the UK, predominantly delivering large civil engineering projects on substation and/or compressor stations. The Contracts Manager will be based at our Head Office in Southampton, visiting sites under your control on a weekly basis. A typical week would likely comprise of 2 days in the office, 2 days on site and 1 day at home. Reporting to the Framework Manager, duties include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Oversee up to 3 projects at any one time
- Work closely with the Head of SHEQ to ensure the highest standards of safety, updating on environmental issues, and ensuring quality
- Manage and support the Project Managers on each project, providing guidance to ensure delivery excellence
- Provide thorough commercial and programme support
- Work with the Bid team, leading bid activity to produce tenders for projects within the Energy Division
- Lead innovation and compliance on all contracts
- Work closely with the commercial team, designers, planners, and site teams
- Client interface; attend regular meetings with the client and report on design and project completion timelines
- Provide effective monthly reporting to the Framework Manager
Qualifications
- BEng/HND in Civil Engineering
- A minimum of 2 years of working in a Contracts Manager role
- Working knowledge of NEC suite of contracts
- A proven track record of securing and delivering large civil engineering projects
- CSCS card
- Full UK Driving Licence & willing to travel to project sites
- A background of delivering projects within a substation environment would be advantageous but not essential
Desired Qualifications / Skills
- Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution is desirable
- BEng in relevant engineering discipline (civil, mechanical, electrical) is essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Full driving licence is essential
