Overview
Do you want to use your finance expertise to help fight for gender equality?
The Fawcett Society is looking for up to two volunteers to join its Finance, Audit and Risk Committee. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the UK’s leading membership organisation dedicated to promoting gender equality and women’s rights at work, home and in public life.
Our vision is a society in which women and girls, in all their diversity, are equal and truly free to fulfill their potential, creating a stronger, happier, better future for all.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of the charity’s financial health on behalf of the Board.
- Review financial reporting, planning and income projections.
- Ensure the organisation has the right controls in place to ensure good financial management.
- Assist in managing strategic risks.
Commitment
The Committee meets quarterly for 90 minutes and all meetings are virtual, so you could be based anywhere in the UK. Committee members will also need to set aside time in advance to review papers.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in financial planning, accounting, risk and/or reporting.
- Awareness of the charity finance sector.
Context
This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to gain experience in charity governance without the legal obligations of being a trustee. You would be working alongside our passionate and experienced Board of Trustees and our Leadership team to ensure that the Fawcett Society continues to have a real impact on advancing women’s rights at a critical moment in our fight for gender equality.
