Overview
Duration: 6 months. Department: Connectivity. Location: Remote, UK. Rate: Negotiable. Role is outside IR35.
Responsibilities
- A varied role to provide support to the Nasstar Core Network and Security Services.
- Be agile in managing workload and constantly re-evaluating priorities.
- Design, implement, and maintain the backbone infrastructure of Nasstar's network.
- Perform proactive tasks to maximise Core network uptime and prevent recurring issues, including resolving monitoring alerts, deploying security updates, systems maintenance and upgrading customer systems.
- Opportunity to work with the latest technologies in an agile environment that promotes systems and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and development of core network architecture.
- Implement best practices for network security, including risk mitigation strategies.
- Migration of services from legacy environments to Nasstar's new core network.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Embrace continual change and process improvement.
- Clear and concise communication.
- Plan and manage own workflow to achieve KPIs.
- Mentor Junior Core Engineers.
- Proactively keep up to date with technologies supported by Nasstar.
- Self-starter with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Education & Qualifications
- Essential: JNCIP-SP
- Desirable: JNCIE
Experience & Capabilities
- Experience within a Service Provider environment.
- Strong Core Network Design.
- Juniper, Cisco and Fortinet hands-on experience.
- Network Analysis: Audit / Recommend / Remediate; Traffic Measurement.
- Network Design: Vendor Best Practice; HLD / LLD.
