Corporate and Investment Bank - Legal -Derivatives Lawyer - Vice President (Hiring Immediately)

The role is in the Emerging Market, Credit Derivatives and Fixed Income Financing Legal Team, with primary focus on providing legal coverage to the Credit Trading business in relation to their OTC derivatives activity and the Currencies and Emerging Markets business. The team advises on a broad range of transactions including emerging market financings documented in a variety of formats, vanilla and bespoke credit default swaps, Shariah-compliant derivatives and cryptocurrency-related transactions, and represents J.Morgan on the EMEA Credit Derivatives Determinations Committee. As a Corporate and Investment Bank – Legal –Derivatives Lawyer – Vice President in Legal department you will have the opportunity to advise on a range of transactions across the emerging markets, credit derivatives and cryptocurrency-backed financing space, providing advice on complex legal and regulatory issues and partnering closely with the business to structure and negotiate transactions across a variety of jurisdictions. Whilst the role is primarily transactional, members of the team are expected to have knowledge of UK and European derivatives law and regulation.
Providing general legal support and advice to the business.
Identifying, raising and working to solve legal and regulatory issues affecting the business.
Liaising with legal colleagues in other jurisdictions on cross-border transactions and with Compliance and other internal risk and control functions.
Assisting and advising the business and colleagues in the Legal Department on regulatory change and implementation affecting the businesses we support.
licensed to practice law in England & Wales or a similar jurisdiction
has experience (4+ PQE) in the derivatives/finance space with strong drafting skills and a familiarity with ISDA documentation
has good judgement and is able to identify risks and issues and escalate where appropriate Apply
