Our amazing dogs bring greater independence and an improved quality of life to their partners, offering security, companionship, and practical help with everyday household tasks.
We are looking for a passionate and innovative individual to join our dedicated Fundraising Team as a Corporate Fundraising Officer. This is an exciting opportunity at a prominent assistance dog charity for someone who has already worked in fundraising and is ready to take on more or an enthusiastic person with strong transferable skills.
Responsibilities
Corporate Fundraising Strategy
- Assist the Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager with the implementation of the Corporate Fundraising Strategy ensuring that all key objectives and aims are being met.
- Contribute to development discussions with the Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager
Account Management
- Provide high quality stewardship to existing corporate partners, including regular updates
- Ensure Salesforce is kept up to date with meeting notes and activity logs
- Ensure a regular schedule of check ins with portfolio of accounts
- Identify opportunities between Canine Partners and current partners, to explore new initiatives and ways of working together.
New Business
- Undertake regular research to identify new opportunities
- Develop corporate propositions best suited to companies on the pipeline
- Maintain up to date records on Salesforce
- Create bespoke and impactful proposals and applications
- Develop resources required for engagement purposes
General
- Perform any other reasonable task as required by Canine Partners.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships and liaison with staff, partners, volunteers and supporters.
- Be aware of and comply with all relevant Canine Partner policies and procedures including those relating to health and safety, fire safety, data protection, IT and standing financial instructions.
- Actively participate in the staff performance management programme and be committed to training and development in line with the charity’s aims and objectives.
- Be responsible and accountable for the delivery of agreed budgetary objectives within agreed timescales.
- Act as an ambassador for the fundraising team at all times.
- Keep up to date with legislative developments relating to the fundraising sector, advising colleagues as appropriate.
- Follow policies and procedures set by Canine Partners and the Fundraising Regulator.
- Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the role.
- Support the development of new fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
Role Requirements
Essential
- Demonstrable experience in corporate fundraising or business development
- A successful track record of securing and maintaining income from companies.
- Proven experience of effectively managing relationships with volunteers, supporters, and/or external stakeholders/audiences.
- A confident speaker with good presentation skills
- Ability to manage a varied workload and take initiative to prioritise.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written communication with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences.
- Experience of monitoring budgets to deliver against income and expenditure targets.
- Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to maintain and record information on a charity database.
- Ability to travel in line with the requirements for the role.
- Adaptable and responsive to the needs of a small team.
- Passion for the vision and mission of the charity.
Desirable
- Proven experience/success in raising income and support from a diverse range of funding streams.
- Event Management experience
- Up-to-date knowledge of charity legislation and government initiatives relating to the non-profit making sector and work to the Fundraising Regulator’s “Code of Practice” and General Data Protection Regulations.
- Knowledge of current fundraising climate – challenges and opportunities.
- Experience of using Salesforce (database software).
- Experience of working within the charity sector.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by disabled people.
